Playin a little catch up!

So what have I been up to for the last month?  Well here's a break down:

The boys (and Janice) all played Edward 40 Hands.  If you don't know what this is, basically you tape 40oz beers or malt liqueur to your hands and you're not allowed to have them removed until both 40's are gone.  This was one of those nights that they realized that they're not 21 anymore, but it was hilarious to watch anyway.  Also, Steve won, first to finish both, only one to finish both and not puke!

So that obviously was a kid free night, but the next week we got to go on a preview of the new Star Tours: The Adventure Continues.  Chris nearly peed himself with excitement when we got the email.  It was super awesome!  We've been on it since then too, I think we're going to have to ride it every time we go.  They did a total overhaul of the ride including the que area and the ride itself, you get to go to different planets and it's different almost every time you ride it and it's in 3D, but this type of 3D doesn't screw with my eyes.

I wore my new wig for the first time, I kind of love it, it's super fun, but it's also really hot so I may have to wait until after the summer to wear it again!

Also saw an awesome VW bus drivin around Tustin the other day with a Dharma sticker from Lost on it.

We went to Laguna Beach a couple weekends ago and got stuck in summer traffic in the canyon, but I'm thinking we're going to go for a hike there soon.  We also went for what we thought was going to be a hike in Newport Coast, but just ended up being a paved walk, still pretty though.

And lastly I have some gratuitous kitty pictures.  Why?  Because she's super cute and apparently has decided my wheel is in the living room is there for her alone!

That's it for now, tune in soon for some more updates, pics from another hike and at least one more finished object in my 28 for 28 adventure!

So I was going to post about how I am having trouble finding inspiration to sew, though I do have a shirt almost done, just need to hem it and put the buttons and button holes in.  My new post is about how excited I am to have 10 followers! I know to some bloggers this may seem a small number, but I love that I have a group of people who enjoy my blog enough to follow it!  YAY! You guys just made my day!  I promise to work on my shirt after running tonight, and I'll post it as soon as I'm done.

YOU GUYS ROCK!

Item 4! T-shirt Scarf!

Ok, so this almost seems like a cheat because it was so easy, but I love it anyway and I'm counting it! I made a t-shirt scarf.  Indiana Adams of Adored Austin started a site called Made This/Love This and the first project was a t-shirt scarf,  I love it, it's easy and it looks super cute!  Please ignore the unmade bed, that's how we roll most mornings.

Another Finished Item

Woo Hoo!  I'm posting item 3 of my 28 things, I know I'm going to need to buckle down if I want to finish, but I had to take the machine in to be serviced (apparently you're supposed to do that WAY more often than I do) and then I was having some back muscle shenanigans, but I'm better now, so the sewing is going to come back in full force.  Anyhow, here's my 3rd item, SLIPPERS!  I love them, they are so toasty and took me all of 2 hours to knit. They only have 19 rows each!  The pattern is the Duffers by Knitting if not Eccentric and I made them out of Lamb's Pride Bulky.  I used some puffy paint to make them not so slippery and it works great!

Catching Up

So I realized I never posted pictures of my finished top from this post. I did finish the shirt in time to wear it for New Year's Eve, it's super cute.  Here have a look:

I love that this top is so comfy and a great wear for days off work.

So this is item 1 out of the 28, and I do have more to share, but I need to get on it so I don't fall too far behind!

Item 2 of the 28

For my second item in the 28 items for my 28th birthday I made the Glorious Cabled Mitts (ravelry link).  They were super fun to knit and I love that they have a left and right, so they fit well with my thumbs.  I also love that the palm is ribbed making it form to the shape of my hand better.  I love these for the office because if I forget to take them off when a client comes in I don't look like a vagabond who's just been sleeping at the office.  I used Blue Moon Fiber Arts Medium Weight Socks That Rock in the Shadow Colorway and I think the subtle color variegation looks great in this pattern.

So this is item 2 of the 28. I'll post as soon as I have pictures of item 1.
