So I realized I never posted pictures of my finished top from this post. I did finish the shirt in time to wear it for New Year's Eve, it's super cute. Here have a look:
I love that this top is so comfy and a great wear for days off work.
So this is item 1 out of the 28, and I do have more to share, but I need to get on it so I don't fall too far behind!
This is a place for me to keep track of daily life and all of my creative goodness.

Item 2 of the 28
For my second item in the 28 items for my 28th birthday I made the Glorious Cabled Mitts (ravelry link). They were super fun to knit and I love that they have a left and right, so they fit well with my thumbs. I also love that the palm is ribbed making it form to the shape of my hand better. I love these for the office because if I forget to take them off when a client comes in I don't look like a vagabond who's just been sleeping at the office. I used Blue Moon Fiber Arts Medium Weight Socks That Rock in the Shadow Colorway and I think the subtle color variegation looks great in this pattern.
So this is item 2 of the 28. I'll post as soon as I have pictures of item 1.

Valentine's Day
I have been saving this pic for Valentine's day and I have another, but it's on my camera which is at home so I'll have to load that in later:
This was a the yarn for a scarf/stole that I knitted for a friend of my Mom's. It was in a center pull cake wound on my ball winder and had very very long repeats and it made this awesome heart.
I have to say being at work today doesn't put me in the most valentiney mood. I had plans to make quilted valentines for everyone in the office, but I had a bit of an altercation with one employee in particular on Thursday and it sort of put me off the whole deal. I have a meeting with my bosses today to discuss this altercation and we'll see how that goes, most usually I am made out to be the bad guy in this office regardless of what actually happened. More on this later.
We went to California Adventure yesterday with the munchkin. It was super fun, though we're still trying to get him to overcome his fears of roller-coasters and to stop psyching himself out of doing things. But all in all it was a great day.
The plan for tonight with the hubby is to make a pork roast with the fig preserves that I made last year, some fingerling potatoes, some chard with lemon and maybe some baked apples for dessert. I love anytime I get to spend with my hubby and I don't feel the need to go over the top with Valentine's Day.
That's it for now, I do have some sewing projects that I need to post about, hopefully later this week.

Good Riddance 2010! Welcome 2011!
I know a lot of people are reminiscing about 2010, I'm not going to do that today. 2010 had a lot of high highs and low lows for me, it was a bit of a rollercoaster, more so than other years. What I am going to do is put that behind me and look forward to the new year. This year holds lots of possibility, as do all new years, but I think I'm more open to embracing the possibilities this year. I've put together a list of resolutions, while it may be a long list, I'm not saying that I need to start them all today, just that I need to do them before the end of the year.
So here they are, in no particular order:
-cook at least 5 nights a week
-complete my 28 things
- post everything I make on my blog
-work out at least 3 days a week
- finish the couch to 5k program
-start a daily yoga practice
-start an online business
-stick to the boundries I've set for myself at work
-get the garage cleaned out
-keep up my Fly Lady practices
That's it. I don't think they'll be too hard to keep, especially with Steve helping me along the way.

Startin Out My 28 things
Sorry I've been so quiet, Christmastime kind of kicked my ass this year. I made 4 stockings, worked my ass off, made 4 hats for my cousin's kids and almost finished my Dad's sweater. I haven't really gotten to do any sewing for myself since I posted my goal of 28 items for me for my 28th birthday, but I started last night. So this week our office has been closed, I've still had to work a bunch from home, but it's given me time to do my annual deep cleaning of the house, I still need to do our bedroom, but it's only Thursday so I should be good. But last night after I got the living room in order I cut out and serged my first project for my 28 things, it's Simplicity 3697 in View D. This is out of some of the fabric my Mom got me for my birthday, I love it. Here's a couple in progress pics, I'll post more when it's done:
Also, I woke up this morning and looked out the window and this is what I found, yep, that's ice outside my window.
I live in So Cal, there should not be ice outside my window.

28 for 28
So obviously I didn't do so well with the whole NaBloWriMo thing, but I really am trying to get better about writing more often. Anyway, I decided to delve into an idea inspired by Regan of Stitch in my Side. She made 32 things for herself in the year leading up to her 32nd bithday and as I always have great aspirations of things to make for myself but get side tracked by projects for other people I've decided to make 28 things for myself for my 28th birthday. I put together an inspiration board:
I'd like to start wearing more skirts, especially in my non work life. I like the way I look in skirts, but rarely wear them outside of work because I'm more used to wearing pants. I'm going to start with some fabric my Mom got me for my birthday, a purple, black and grey plaid to make a long a-line skirt. I'll post pics as soon as I'm done. It may take a little while as I've still got one stocking to finish for Christmas and one hat for my cousin's kids.
I've got 360 days until my birthday and 28 items to go!
