Legoland!

So as promised here are some pics of Legoland with the munchkin and my parents!  I'll have pics of the estate sale stuff tomorrow, some of it is still in the dishwasher.

 Chris with my parents
Steve lookin at the DC display
Chris loved this one because he could break the pirate ship.
This is in the Southern California Section, notice the young blond with the old guy.
He liked that you could yell and hear yourself.
Cracked me up, they were all like this.
 My Boys.
My Parents think we should use this for our Christmas pics.
Chris just about peed his pants in line for this ride, Steve had the time of his life.
Chris liked this one because you got to get wet.
This was his favorite of the day, he got his own drivers license.
Notice how much bigger my munchkin is than all the rest of the kids.  He's gotten so huge!

Legoland!

Today is Legoland day and the munchkin is more excited than you could ever imagine.  He woke up this morning at 6 ready to go, got himself showered and dressed and everytime my parents go upstairs he tells them that is is ready! That kid is too freaking cute!  Well I'll have some pictures for you all tomorrow!  Also, I'll have some pics of the great stuff I picked up at the estate sale across the street yesterday, Pyrex and clocks, oh my it's wonderful!

Giving to Those Less Fortunate

So as you know, my parents are in town and early this morning my Mom and I decided to go to a live taping of KFI AM 640's Bill Handel Show.  The main reason we went is they are doing a fundraiser for The White House Restaurant in Anaheim because the owner, Bruno Serato, makes dinner for 150 motel kids every night.  This man is amazing to me, his business has gone down 30% and he has doubled the number of kids he feeds.  So we went, took some pasta and donated.  I think you all should go and read about this amazing man.  I have a picture, but it's not uploaded yet so I'll get that as soon as I can for you!

Yarn for My Dad's Sweater

So I've been trying to figure out a yarn for my Dad's sweater and I think I've got it. I've ordered Elsebeth Lavold Twice Tweed Yarn, which is recycled and has some cotton in it so he won't get so hot:
I'm super excited to get started on this sweater, should be pretty awesome!

Overly Ambitious?

So as you may or may not know my parents have recently moved to Kansas.  They love it there and the community they are in seems like its going to be a great fit for them.  However, they have lived in California for 20 years and no longer have the winter clothes you need for living in an area like Kansas.  So I've decided to knit them sweaters, scarves and mittens for "Christmas".  Why is Christmas in quotes you ask?  Because I'm not so delusional as to think they will actually be done in time for Christmas.  But I do think I'll be able to get them done before winter is over.  Here's my plan on what I'm going to knit them:

For my Dad:
The Cobblestone Pullover by Jared Flood (Ravelry Link

The Faux Bois Scarf Adrian Bizilia (Ravelry Link)

And the Faux Bois Mittens by Adrian Bizilia (Ravelry Link)

For those of you that don't know my Dad, he's a pretty simple dresser, though he likes a little interest in his clothes, but he also loves woodworking.  So I thought the Faux Bois set would be awesome in a little subtler colors.
For my Mom:

The Hourglass Sweater by Joelle Hoverson (Ravelry Link) but I'm using tanneicasey's modifications to make it a funnel necked sweater
The Fiddlehead Mittens by Adrian Bizilia (Ravelry Link)
And Kink by Jodie Gordon Lucas (Ravelry Link), though I already made this and gave it to her when she was here last time, so I may or may not get pictures of that.

So that's it, I know it seems like a lot, but I'm a fast knitter, so it shouldn't be too bad.  I'm ordering the yarn for my Dad's sweater tomorrow, still not exactly sure what it is I want to get for him.  Suggestions?

Nothin to Write About

This is the problem I was running into with my other blog, I feel like I have nothing to write about.  I have a very hectic job which seems to take over most of my day.  Today I didn't do any knitting or sewing or spinning or even cooking.  There's something about coming home from a long day and just sitting and vegging in front of the TV that some days I find vastly appealing.  I wish I was the kind of person who comes home and decides that now I'm going to make something wonderful and inspired for dinner, but I'm just not like that most days.  I find if I plan, my meals, my projects, my outfits, then I'm fine, but if I try to wing it that's when I fall back into old habits.  I guess this isn't the best way to start a new blog, telling you how boring my life is, though I'm hoping that this will help me embrace my creativity.  I love the saying that they have all over the place at the Paper Source stores, "Do Something Creative Everyday." That is my goal and I'm hoping this blog will help me attain that.

First Post

Hi Everyone!  Hopefully some of you followed me over from my old blog (The Knittings of Bree).  This is my new start November 1, 2010!  I'm going to be participating in NaBlaPoMo to get me started!  For my first post I'd like to post my Husband and my Halloween Costumes from this year.  The picture isn't great, but we went as 70's swingers.  You can see the outfits that I made from vintage patterns I got from my Grandma.  What's not in this pic is our swings, we like to be a little punny.  Hope you enjoy, I know we did!
